The balcony and second floor trex deck of the newly purchased lake house provided excellent views, however it provided us protection from weather on the first floor. To have a pool and patio areas to enjoy in the evening and off season wee desired also.
The pool was located to take advantage of the primary view to the lake, save trees and play down the view of the two story boat house. Their desire was to have a vanishing edge and extend the view from inside the home. To maximize elevation change between the pool and lake the existing patio height was raised up 12’. This also eliminated the steps between the house and porch. Stone columns with arched created the new cabana structure. An outdoor kitchen was added under the cabana roof as well with grill, side burner, green egg, trash and drop in cooler. The stair stepped flagstone vanishing edge weir wall creates a nice visual as people bring their boats into dock. Automatic fir inserts in the boulders the fire pit and LED lighting add the porch lighting to make a sparkling gem from the inside and outside.
